Well said Chris! I couldn't agree more, and I am learning more about myself everyday (and him as well!). Only fools rush in! I can only admonish those out there who have not been married to think long and hard about what marriage really means, pick up a book or two on marraige, and stay grounded in the Word of God, trust, only He can see you through those truly rough times!

I am not currently married but I've been there, and when it isn't right, it seems like EVERYTHING is going wrong. However, I am proud to say that my current relationship is playing out like a dream, and though everything isn't always perfect, I love him enough to "ride it out" (thanks Chris!) and do what is necessary to make it to the next step in our relationship.

Chris, Wow sir that was a powerful piece. I applaud you for getting this message across. I would say no one understands marriage until they really experience it. My wife and I went through counseling before we were married. We talked with married and divorced people, and we felt we were ready, but let me tell you as GOD said "in the Beginning" for us it was a rude awakening to understand the selfless act of marriage. Today we are enjoying an enriched marriage, but it is due to the fact that 1. We stayed connected to GOD no matter what. 2. We linked up with a great Church New Light Bishop Hilliard & 3. We understood that we should be giving each other the overflow of our relationship with GOD.

That means when we are not doing well, we needed to check our relationship with GOD. As far as the 'Selfless Act of Marriage". I personally had to understand that it is not about what my wife is doing, I am to love her a Christ Love the church. I can attest that when I stopped looking at her and focused on GOD, it wasn't easy at first, but our marriage when to another level. We will celebrate 7 years of a wonderful marriage, and I know that all glory belongs to GOD.

Keep doing what you are doing,
Gerald
