Wow Mr. King, that was awesome, That was very inspirational, for me being that I still have my mother here withe me it makes me even more grateful to her, that is why I wanted to treat her to the best this year. All I could remember her saying on last year is how selfish myself and my sister were being to her for not acknowledging her the way we should have had and I can truly say that I made up for that this year, and will continue to show her that she is Appreciated throughout the year, even though my sister could not be here this year to share her Mother's Day experience I know she was smiling down from heaven and saying Well Done my sister Well Done.

Mother's Day...the one day out of the year where we acknowledge the tireless, endless and undying dedication that the most resilient and talented women walking the earth exhibit everyday to and for their children. It's a day where no matter how old we are or where we are in life, we make sure to tell (or attempt to show) the woman in our life, who is responsible for who we are and what we are, how much we love her, how very special she is, and how much we appreciate her.

My mom lives in another country. Last year was a very special Mother's Day for me, not only because it was my first Mother's Day as a mom, but also because it was the first in twelve years that my mom was here in the US with her 3 children! We took her to lunch, yes we waited forever to eat, but just being able to spend the day with her was special in itself! I'd give anything just to be able to spend days with my mom like this all the time...

So, once again, I thank you for being so open and transparent. It is through your transparency that I am reminded that I need to find a way to tell my mom how much I love her daily.

I have always loved all things holiday- because of the gifts, and especially due to the fact that my mother let me have and celebrate two birthdays! Which is a segue into how amazing my mom is and why I am so honored to have her as my mom and don't know how I would have gotten along without her. As the youngest child of quite a large family; 8, I know my mom did an excellent job at providing for me (and my brothers and sisters) in the best way possible and for that I love her! (I mean, did [or would] your mom use her only day off to drive 2 hours away, walk in the heat from store to store so that her baby could wear Guess everyday? Thank you for making high school a blast!)I love my Mommie from top to bottom! Her wisdom is unmatched. She will let you know that "you can't tell a can of oil nothing slick!" She motivated me to continue my education, as she was the first woman in our entire family to receive a four year degree and inspired me to push further, set higher goals, achieve more, work smarter and use my God given talents to pursue a God driven life, have purpose. My Mommie is an excellent listener and she gives good advice like "don't borrow, don't lend, get your your own ish and you'll stay best friends" or "Pray" Thank you Mommie! I also love her sense of style. Because of her, I know all the colors for every season, when and when not to wear white and the difference between winter white, cream, and egg shell, cocktail, after 5, semi formal and formal. And which open toes are appropriate in the winter and why only whores wear boots in the summer. Even though I think her nails are a bit, umm urban, that's MY Mom and I love her. She makes me proud everyday. My Mommie is a woman of grace, character and decorum. (Ladies don't pop gum, introduce the important person first, speak as you enter). She's old school- straight from Nickerson Gardens now living the good life and new school-texting me "what's up chica?" everyday. My Mommie is the epitome of finer womanhood. I like the fact that my mom was not only a mother to me but was also a wonderful mom to the everybody in the neighborhood. Everyone knows that if they need something/anything my mother is the one to call! And this still holds true today. Currently, my Mommie lives in her guest house while 3 other families occupy the main house. ("They need help getting on their feet." She says)Man, I can go on forever talking about my Mom because she is so phenomenal! Although I can go on forever I won't, but I do want to say to any of my brothers and sisters reading this comment- I'm Mommie's favorite! How do I know? Because I'm her only child with pictures hanging in the front room (or any room for that matter)! I love you Mommie! Thanks for all the incredible things you did and continue to do that make me happy that you are my mother. YOU are Awesome! I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world! Thanks for keeping me on point. I can honestly say that I never wished I had a different mother ever! I love you! I love you! I love you! Happy Mother's Day!

WOW. CLK you perfectly displayed true feelings in this one. I am like you in more ways than one. I too used to hate Mother's Day, but more so because of how amazingly commercial it had become. We are to honor our mothers and our fathers everyday and one day in MAY can not fully convey how I truly felt for my mother. I too have lost my mother and have to be reminded on a holiday like this one that she cannot receive the gifts, macaroni cards, hand prints, dinners at Yummy Chow Chinese restaurant, etc, but one thing that comforts me on a weekend where we celebrate the contributions of mothers worldwide is that my mother knows how much I love her. I live each day making her proud of her youngest son as she smiles on me as she constantly dispenses her wisdom in my ear, "Leave those HOES alone!" I LOVE YOU MAMA!!!
